The University of Aberdeen recently launched a major recruitment programme that will involve the appointment of 60 academic staff, 14 of which are in the School of Biological Sciences. The programme is described at https://www.abdn.ac.uk/research/jobs/.
The positions within the School of Biological Sciences consist of:
- 6 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer posts
- 8 Academic Fellowships (Research), which will develop into tenured track positions.
Several of the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions are directly relevant to microbial ecology:
- Functional genomics
- Marine benthic ecology
- Plankton Ecology
The Academic Fellowships are in research areas related to the School’s current research activities and strengths, which include microbial ecology, microbial evolution, plant-microbe interactions, soil physics, terrestrial and marine biogeochemistry and ‘omics approaches.
These posts provide a unique and exciting opportunity to develop and build on current research in microbial ecology within the School of Biological Sciences, in other Schools within the University and in local Research Institutes.
Please find further details of these posts and information on application procedures at https://www.abdn.ac.uk/research/jobs/ and please forward this email to others who may be interested in applying. The closing date for applications is May 12th, 2019.
