5-year postdoctoral position in plant molecular physiology/cell biology

University of Cologne. The Plant Molecular Physiology Department at the University of Cologne invites applications for a 5-year postdoctoral position in plant molecular physiology/cell biology as a fixed-term position in the lab of Prof. Dr. Marcel Bucher

Position: The successful candidate will join our research on the mycorrhizal symbiosis with a focus on the regulatory network underlying mycorrhizal nutrient acquisition in the model system Lotus japonicus (Nature 414, 462; Science 318, 265; Plant J 74, 280; Plant Physiol 167, 854; PNAS 115, 39). Our international research team is located at the Cologne Biocenter, an integrative research and teaching facility for biological sciences at the University of Cologne providing excellent research infrastructure. This is a 5-year position (longer-term extension possible).

Requirements: The ideal candidate has a strong motivation and passion to science, a fundamental knowledge in plant molecular physiology/cell biology, combined with interest in reduced teaching (4 SWS) in basic (German is mandatory) and advanced (English) level, and holds a PhD in biology, biochemistry or a related field. Expertise in RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, R/Perl programming, Y1H and Y2H screening, CoIP, confocal microscopy as demonstrated by first author papers in highly ranked international journals, will be a strong plus. Very good written and oral communication skills in English are required. Priority will be given to candidates who have identified independent
funding sources for which they are eligible, and to which they are prepared to apply.

Salary: According to federal guidelines (TV-LE13).
